Viking Paper was established in 1969 in İzmir - Aliağa as Turkey's "first private sector paper factory". The firm commenced operations with an initial annual production capacity of 13.500 tons of single-glazed wrapping, printing, and laminating paper in 1971.

Then, in 1982, the growth of Viking Paper started to accelerate after joining Yaşar Group and it stepped into the cleaning paper industry in 1996. With its strong brands and more than 80 products, Viking Paper continues its activities with an annual production capacity of 45,800 tons. Adopting a human and nature-sensitive approach and a sustainable quality principle, Viking Paper takes place in the domestic and global consumer markets with its wide product range consisting of toilet paper, towels, napkins, box tissues and wet towels. While focusing on in-house consumption with Premia, Lily, Senso, Pufla, and Terra brands, the company also offers products to the out-of-home consumption market with its Select brand. Developing innovative products that meet various demands and needs of consumers in both channels, Viking Paper realizes the distribution of products to more than 20 dealers and 200 direct sales outlets in Turkey effectively.

Continuing to grow with its innovative perspective and environmentally friendly practices in all business processes, Viking Paper also contributes to the development of the industry.

The Company, which closely monitors the changing industry dynamics and living conditions, works to add new products to its product range.

Aiming to further increase efficiency in production and quality in its products, Viking Paper has contributed to the sustainable future with its alternative raw material investment in 2021, which is a first in Turkey.

Focusing on reducing the use of natural resources and offering alternative raw materials with its sustainability investments, Viking Paper increases its production of eco-friendly tissue paper products every year. Having commissioned its recycling facility investment, the company implements a zero waste and circular economy approach by converting waste paper carton packages into raw materials and regaining them to the economy. Continuing to work in the field of personal hygiene and cleaning products, Viking Paper strives to expand its product range.

Viking Paper exports to 22 countries and maintains the title as the company with the highest export share in net sales among Yaşar Group.

We are breaking new ground in the Turkish tissue paper industry in 2021, in line with our sustainability vision and goals with our new investment, Recyfiber®, which is a brand new technology producing hygienic papers from recycled cellulose fibers inside the beverage carton packages.

Viking Paper produces hygienic tissue paper from recycled cellulose fibers inside the beverage carton packages with the Recyfiber® investment, which is a first in the tissue paper industry in Turkey and realized in partnership with Tetra Pak®. While reducing the ecological impact, the company also contributed to the reduction of cellulose-based foreign dependency with the alternative raw material it produces for the paper industry. The company started to export Recyfiber® branded semi-finished hygenic paper products produced with recycled cellulose fibers to the world in the industrial channel. Select Nature branded eco-friendly new generation hygienic papers, which are also produced as value added, end-user products, meet with consumers in both domestic and foreign markets.

1969

Viking Paper was established in İzmir's Aliağa District as Turkey's “first private sector paper factory”.

1971

Viking Paper started operations with a capacity of 13,500 tons/year.

1982

Viking Paper joined Yaşar Group and modernization efforts were started.

1984

Viking Paper's capacity was increased to 20,250 tons/year with the new investments.

1994

Viking Paper went public and started to be traded on the stock exchange.

1995

Completed the second modernization process.

1996

Viking Paper entered the cleaning paper industry.

Lily brand met with consumers.

Senso branded products were introduced to the market.

1997

Viking Kağıt received the title of “the first company to receive ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate” from an international institution in the tissue paper industry.

Commissioned Turkey's first biological treatment plant.

1998

Released the Select brand products for the out-of-home channel.

1999

Increased its capacity to 43,000 tons/year with its second paper machine investment.

2000

Commissioned the recycled paper processing plant (de-inking), a first in the Turkish tissue paper industry.

2003

Increased its competitive power by completely renewing its tissue paper recycling facility.

Converted existing quality certification to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate.

2007

Commissioned the second round product line and achieved a 120% capacity increase in the round product group.

2008

Participated as a pilot facility in the “Increasing Energy Efficiency in Turkish Industry Through Voluntary Agreements” initiated by the TR Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources within the scope of energy efficiency.

2009

Viking Paper upgraded its quality standard with the ISO 9001:2008 version.

2010

Became the first company to receive FSC Management System Certificate among Turkish paper-cardboard manufacturers.

Pufla branded products manufactured from recycled papers were introduced to consumers.

2012

Its calendaring investment enabled the products to have a softer paper structure.

Increased its production capacity with a new jumbo machine investment in the out-of-home use channel.

Premia product family for the premium segment was launched.

Premia and Lily brands were registered as paper towels suitable for food contact by the German ISEGA Institute.

2013

The company started to calculate its carbon footprint.

Premia and Lily were registered by the German DERMATEST Research Institute as toilet paper suitable for sensitive skin.

2014

Received dermatological compatibility certificate for sensitive skin from German DERMATEST Laboratories for Select Toilet Paper.

2016

BRC CP Certificate was obtained.

HYGIENIC PRODUCT GC MARK Certificate was obtained.

ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certificate was obtained.

2018

Cogeneration and 3. Round Product Line investments were completed.

2019

Domestic Goods Certificate was received.

Successfully passed BRC CP audits and renewed as BRC CP Revision 4

2020

TSE COVID-19 Safe Production Certificate was obtained.

2021

Viking Paper upgraded the energy standard with ISO 50001: 2018 version.

Successfully passed the BRC CP audits, and the certificate grade was upgraded to A Grade.

Zero Waste Certificate was obtained.

Within the scope of the sewage sludge dewatering project, a decanter investment was realized.

The company commissioned the used beverage carton (UBC) recycling facility. It started the manufacture and export of 100% ecological Recyfiber® branded semi-finished hygenic paper which is produced from recycled cellulose fibers inside the beverage carton packages for the first time in Turkey.

2022

Eco-friendly, value-added and natural colored tissue paper portfolio which is a first in Turkey and obtained by recycling cellulose fibers inside the beverage cartons under Select Nature brand was introduced to the market in in-home and out-of-home channels.
